第二十八屆台灣燈會目前正於雲林縣如火如荼的展期中，交通部觀光局在昨（十七）日傍晚時宣布第二十九及三十屆的台灣燈會主辦縣市，觀光局也奉行政院核定明年「二○一八台灣燈會」由嘉義縣繼續接棒，第三十屆則由屏東主辦。
觀光局表示，此次首度規劃突破原有的辦理模式，並順應國際的永續發展與在地旅遊風潮，以更為環保、在地與藝術化的方式辦理，除強化在地特色與資源永續概念外，也獲取文化部同意，協助導入國際級文化藝術策展團隊的參與籌辦，鎖以本次申辦燈會的嘉義縣及屏東縣的提案，經評選委員會嚴謹的審查及充分討論後，決議同時宣布兩年的燈會主辦縣市。
而雀屏中選的嘉義縣預計於縣政府的縣治特區、故宮南院及蒜頭糖廠舉辦，除地點的交通疏運及基地現況平整等條件佳外，也利於遊客到訪參觀。屏東縣則提案預計於屏東市的六塊厝地區及大鵬灣青洲濱海遊憩區、帆船基地舉辦，並燈區規劃融入原住民、閩南、客家、新住民等多元族群文化，配合南向政策，結合新住民加入導覽。
觀光局長周永暉也表示，希望以後的主燈，能不受十二生肖的拘束，並給藝術設計家較大的空間去做的設計，周永暉說，嘉義縣由於是並非首次舉辦了，應該會有比較完整的經驗，周也希望大家能給屏東多一點的鼓勵，以便能把後年燈會做得更好。

全球鑽石、珠寶商機即將在港璀璨登場！由香港貿發局主辦的第4屆香港國際鑽石、寶石及珍珠展，2月28日至3月4日在亞洲國際博覽館舉行；專門展示珠寶首飾成品的第34屆香港國際珠寶展3月2日至6日在灣仔香港會議展覽中心接續登場，兩大展覽匯聚50個國家及地區，近4,500家參展商共同搭建出全球規模最大的珠寶商貿平台。
貿發局台灣總經理朱耀昌表示，台灣是香港第九大珠寶首飾市場，兩地業者長期來在珠寶首飾及原材料貿易上建立了穩定的關係。今年兩項盛會得到台灣珠寶業界的鼎力支持，台灣區珠寶公會也再次組團參展，號召200家台灣參展商，珠寶業精銳盡出，搶攻全球鑽石與珠寶商機。
貿發局統計，上屆兩展吸引了來自147個國家及地區，超過80,000位買家入場參觀採購，其CP值爆表中台灣買家也有2,300位，反應熱烈。為台灣買家提供完善服務，貿發局規畫商貿配對、專享商務差旅贊助及各類交流活動，吸引更多台灣珠寶業者參觀展會，利用貿發局國際展貿平台，發掘更多商機。
第4屆香港國際鑽石、寶石及珍珠展，聚焦在未鑲嵌鑽石、貴重寶石、半寶石及珍珠等原材料；來自台灣的綺麗珊瑚是展會攤位面積最大的參展商，其他知名參展商還包括德國Paul Wild、香港Novel Collection Ltd、民生珠寶（香港）公司、安寶石首飾公司等知名業者。展覽將以不同範疇的原材料劃分多個展區，包括匯聚全球頂尖鑽石供應商的「美鑽精粹廊」、專門展出貴重寶石及半寶石的「自然瑰寶」及展出優質珍珠的「海洋瑰寶」。
本屆珠寶展劃分為九大展區，「品牌精粹廊」展出40個國際知名珠寶首飾品牌，「珠寶精粹廊」網羅矜貴獨特的頂級珠寶首飾，充滿時尚活力的「珠寶設計精選」展區更有台灣唐風珠寶藝術設計工作室及尚囍珠寶等公司參與。
促進洽商與交流，主辦單位在兩展期間舉辦多場珠寶匯演、專題研討會、論壇，以及各類交流活動，讓業界掌握最新資訊了解市場趨勢。3月2日晚上將舉行珠寶之夜晚宴，並公布「國際珠寶設計大獎」競賽成績。
